Common questions and answers about Southern Salinity Guide Service

Do fishing charters & boat tours include provide beverages or food?

All trips include bottled spring water, naturally favored sparkling water, and a ICON cooler with ice, compliments of your Captain. You are welcome to bring anything additionally to eat or drink onboard with the exception of liquor. Our warm sun, motion of the water and liquor just don’t blend well!

What if I experience seasickness or motion discomfort on the charter?

Our recommendation for those who are concerned or have experienced this condition in the past, there are several excellent precautionary drugs such as Dramamine or Bonine available over the counter after consulting your physician prior to your charter’s departure.

Do Captains provide the fishing equipment and license?

All fishing charters provide professional Florida Fishing Products rods and reels, terminal tackle, fresh & artificial baits, and a Florida Saltwater fishing license for your entire group while onboard.

Can we keep the fish we catch?

All legal fish caught within Florida recreational saltwater state regulations can be harvested. The Captain onboard your fishing charter will measure all fish to verify legal size limit. Upon arriving back to the dock, the Captain will fillet & package the fish in Freezer Lock bags. Our clients are asked to bring their own cooler & ice to transport their fillets home with them.

What about bad weather on my charter day?

Our policy on bad weather is quite simple and completely fair to our guests. We monitor our local weather constantly for any remotely trouble-some conditions are approaching & small craft advisories.

We rely on NOAA’s forecast that changes depending on what body of water we fish. We will consult with you in respect to the weather the evening before your fishing charter or boat tour. Cancellations due to weather or sea conditions are always at the captain’s discretion under federal & state law.

If our captain cancels due to inclement weather or small craft advisory, you will be fully refunded your deposit or payment. Of course, we will try to reschedule your charter based upon our availability later in your stay.
